What’s Next for Heron Drums?

Following our Farewell Gathering and the winding down of Heron Drums in its current form, many of you have been asking what comes next. While I will no longer have the space to continue running Heron Drums in its entirety after my move to Ireland, this is by no means the end. The drum continues to call, and I will continue to listen. Heron Drums has always been rooted in service to the drum and its community, and that commitment will continue in new ways. Though the structure is changing, the spirit of Heron Drums will still carry on.

Still Crafting Drums

Though I will be letting go of the workshop and much of the business infrastructure, I will certainly find ways to continue birthing drums.

This craft means too much to me to stop entirely. Even if on a smaller scale, I will continue to craft shamanic drums, shaped by the land I’m moving to and the space that’s available.

Supporting the UK Drum Circle Community

The online drum circle map and directory will remain active and continue to grow. It’s important to me that people can still find their way to drumming communities, wherever they may be.

I also plan to create further resources for group leaders and community organisers to help nourish and sustain these circles. As the work evolves, this support may even extend beyond the UK.

Stag Hide Supply

Our long-standing supply of stag hides, which so many drum makers have been working with over the years, will remain available through the website.

These hides carry the wild spirit of the stag, a sacred ally in this work, and I will continue to make these available for those crafting drums and other sacred tools.

Online Courses

All of the online courses you’ve enrolled in will continue to be available, with lifetime access as always promised.

These offerings are not disappearing—in fact, I hope to build upon them. New classes and courses may be added in the future as I find new ways to teach and share from a distance, and as the rhythm of this next phase unfolds.

Sharing Resources for Shamanic Drumming

Over the years, I’ve shared guidance, experience, and teachings about the shamanic drum through our website and social media channels, and that will continue. While the social media content is likely to pause for a time as I settle into this transition, please do keep an eye out—it will return, and more will be shared in time. These resources will continue to reflect traditional practice, lived experience, and years of deep dedication to this sacred craft.

Shamanic Rattles

Many of you have loved the beautiful rattles crafted by Lindsey over the past couple of years. We have good news on that front - she will be continuing her own journey under her new venture, Triskelion Rattles.

Drum Guarantees

Every Heron Drum has always come with a two-year guarantee, and that still stands, even after my move.

If something needs repair or attention, we will find a way to work things out together, and ensure that you continue to feel supported by Heron Drums.

What Will Be Pausing

Some aspects of the Heron Drums are not going to be carried forward during this transition:

  • Drum Making Supplies – Without a dedicated workspace and storage, I won’t be able to keep materials or store supplies in bulk, and so I won’t be in a position to supply materials for the time being.

  • Bespoke Drums – I have always offered personal drums, made-to-order, carefully crafted with specific materials, requests, and woven with your prayers. However, until I can get clear on my reliable suppliers and materials within Ireland, I won’t be in a position to take on bespoke orders. These offerings will certainly return once I’m able to guarantee the quality and availability of the resources I need.

  • Accessories and Smudge Items – These items have always been beautiful additions to the work of Heron Drums, but due to limitations of space and storage in the new chapter ahead, they won’t be something I’m able to continue.

  • Drum Birthing Workshops – These ceremonies and gatherings have been at the heart of Heron Drums over the years. They will pause for now, as I take the necessary time to land fully, listen deeply to the new land, and feel into what may want to emerge next. In time, and in new form, they may return—but that will be a journey I undertake slowly and with care.

Taking Time to Dream with the Land

As I prepare to close this chapter and make the move to a new land, I am intentionally choosing to pause—to reflect, to listen, and to connect with the land I’ll be moving to.

I don’t want to rush into new plans or decisions. Instead, I want to honour this transition fully, and to dream with the land and ask what it has in store for me, and for the future of Heron Drums.

I want to offer my deepest thanks to everyone who has supported Heron Drums over the years. Your encouragement, kind words, trust, and presence—whether through crafting together, joining workshops, or simply following our journey—have all meant the world.

More will unfold in time. And I look forward to sharing that journey with you.
