Random Acts of Kindness for you and your Shamanic Drum
Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day!
At Heron Drums, we have been thinking of Drum related ideas for Random Acts of Kindness Day, 17th February 2023, including acts of kindness with your Drum or for your Drum. Have a read of these 5 ideas below.
We also have a special RAOK Offer with 10% off everything on the website (including Drum Birthing Workshops), and on our Online Courses page. See below for details, and offer runs from now until midnight on Sunday 19th February.
1. Oiling your Drum - if you have had your drum for a few years, it is good practice to oil your drum about once a year. This is a beautiful way to give back to the drum, but also helps condition the rawhide, keeps it from sounding flat, and helps prevent tears. To find out more about how to oil your drum, click here and scroll down to the video tutorial.
2. Journey to meet the Spirit of your Drum - The sacred relationship between you and the spirit of your drum is so very important in the work that you are doing together, and if you have never connected with it before, or haven't in a long while, now could be a great time to start building that friendship. Click here for our recorded Shamanic Drum Journey to meet the spirit of the drum, or visit our Online Courses page to explore this fully with our Spirit of the Drum Online Course
3. Meet with a friend to Drum together - If you know someone who also has a drum, why wait until the next drumming circle or gathering to drum together. These are tools of connection, and it is a great way to connect with others and spend some magical time. Let us know
4. Offer someone a Drum Healing session - The healing rhythms of the drum are a simple yet powerful way of giving some healing to a friend or family member, particularly if they are stressed or going through a difficult time, to help them relax and release some of what they are holding. If it is not something that you have done before, it is a practice that is covered on the Spirit of the Drum online course.
5. Drum out in Nature - While we have some beautiful cool February weather, it might be a lovely time to get out into nature. At this time, while it is still cold, the land is awakening, the sap is rising in the trees, and the bulbs are pushing through the soil into flower. It can be a lovely way to connect with that rising energy, of reemergence and reawakening to drum for the spirits of the land.
